Chalobah Expected to Step in for Guehi in Three Lions Squad
The Chelsea star emulated his sibling Nathaniel in representing England, emerging as the twenty-first pair of siblings to be selected for the national team.
Trevoh Chalobah is expected to join up with the England squad to fill in for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is scheduled to meet up with the squad for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, but it has not yet been made public.
The Three Lions have already secured qualification for the upcoming tournament.
Chalobah earned his initial selection under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.
In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be omitted from the squad for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and also omitted him for the subsequent October international break.
Tuchel has been an important presence in Chalobah's development, having handed him his Chelsea first-team bow in the year 2021.
Chalobah has featured in almost every games for Chelsea this season, with the side occupying third spot in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.
Guehi suffered a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Conference League win over the Dutch side last week.
There are likely to be further call-ups to the squad. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) will be unavailable from the national team.
